Rubicon Organics™ is on a mission to grow the best cannabis on Earth, for the Earth. As a Canadian leader in premium cannabis products, we operate a state-of-the-art indoor cultivation and processing facility in Hope, British Columbia, and are looking for a passionate and results-driven Director of Operations to lead the daily operations at our expanding site.
This high-impact leadership role will oversee the day-to-day performance and people management across various operational functions including cultivation, processing, facilities, quality assurance, maintenance, and inventory management. As we scale our operations, this role will be critical in ensuring product excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous process optimization.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead and inspire cross-functional teams, setting clear expectations and performance goals
Build a high-performance culture grounded in safety, collaboration, and accountability
Work closely with the Director of Cultivation and Senior Manager, Quality, to meet production and compliance targets
Facility & Operational Oversight
Supervise daily activities across the cultivation and processing facility to ensure operational efficiency
Monitor and ensure optimal functioning of facility equipment and systems
Lead execution of production plans while maintaining throughput and quality standards
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Enforce strict adherence to Health Canada, WorkSafeBC, and internal regulatory requirements
Support the implementation and upkeep of SOPs and Quality Management Systems
Ensure all documentation, audit requirements, and reporting standards are met
Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement
Partner with the VP of Operations on long-term capacity planning, production scaling, and resource optimization
Identify and lead Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement initiatives
Refine operational workflows and SOPs for consistency and scalability
Resource & Financial Management
Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditure plans
Monitor KPIs, analyze variances, and implement corrective action plans
Lead capital project implementation and ensure efficient resource allocation
7+ years of progressive experience in operations management within regulated agricultural, horticultural, or manufacturing environments
Minimum 3 years in cannabis cultivation operations, preferably within indoor facilities
Strong financial and analytical skills with experience managing complex budgets and forecasts
Deep understanding of Health Canada regulations and industry compliance standards
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and execute continuous improvement frameworks
Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Business, Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s or professional certification in operations management is a plus)
