Senior Member Of Technical Staff

Description:

Oracle is expanding its cloud technology leadership by launching a new division—Oracle Health—focused on transforming healthcare through cutting-edge AI and cloud-based solutions. This newly established line of business fosters a dynamic, innovative, and entrepreneurial environment aimed at modernizing healthcare with intelligent automation, secure data systems, and advanced analytics.

The Senior Member of Technical Staff (Machine Learning Engineer) will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying AI-driven solutions within Oracle Health’s product ecosystem. The selected candidate will collaborate across engineering and product teams to implement advanced LLM (Large Language Model) systems that improve clinical and operational workflows, enhance data integrity, and optimize healthcare delivery efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and optimize LLM-powered agents for healthcare applications such as patient communication, prior authorization, clinical summarization, and medical coding.

  • Drive the end-to-end integration of AI systems across Oracle’s healthcare platform, ensuring reliability, safety, and compliance with clinical standards.

  • Select, version, and optimize foundation models and prompts to balance privacy, latency, cost, and safety considerations.

  • Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), structured outputs, and function/tool calling for interoperability with EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems and third-party integrations.

  • Apply prompt engineering, instruction tuning, and preference optimization to adapt LLMs to healthcare-specific datasets.

  • Conduct evaluation and error analysis using real-world medical datasets to enhance performance, accuracy, and fairness.

  • Incorporate guardrails, uncertainty handling, and human-in-the-loop systems to ensure AI reliability and clinical trustworthiness.

  • Productionize AI services using CI/CD pipelines, containerization, autoscaling, and cost-control mechanisms.

  • Implement system-wide metrics, tracing, and monitoring, enforcing SLAs with canary or blue-green deployment strategies for safe rollouts and rollback.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of production experience with LLM agents.

  • Demonstrated expertise in improving model reliability through reward modeling, policy learning, tool-use strategies, and safety frameworks.

  • Strong proficiency in modern AI development tools, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure.

  • Proven research contributions such as publications, open-source projects, or patents in LLMs, information retrieval (IR), or clinical NLP.

  • Deep understanding of vector databases, autoscaling systems, and performance monitoring in production environments.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to operate effectively in cross-functional, distributed teams.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive annual salary: CAD 66,800 – 145,900 (based on experience, expertise, and location).

  • Comprehensive benefits package including:

    • Health, dental, and life insurance coverage

    • Flexible medical and retirement plan options

    • Paid leave and work-life balance support

    • Employee volunteer programs for community engagement

  • Access to global career development opportunities within one of the world’s leading technology enterprises.
