Description:

CI Financial is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of U.S. Tax Operations to lead and oversee key client and organizational tax reporting functions under global tax regimes including Qualified Intermediary (QI), FATCA, and CRS. This role involves managing end-to-end U.S. tax reporting processes, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and leading a team of specialists to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all U.S. tax reporting requirements including forms 1099, 1042, 1042-S, FATCA (Part XVIII), and CRS (Part XIX).

  • Lead year-end client tax reporting processes and ensure timely resolution of inquiries and amendments.

  • Manage QI, FATCA, and CRS compliance programs including governance documentation, training, and periodic reviews.

  • Lead cross-functional projects on tax reporting, system improvements, and compliance enhancements.

  • Collaborate with operations, technology, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to U.S. withholding and tax documentation standards.

  • Manage onboarding and renewal of client tax documentation including W-9, W-8 forms, treaty statements, and compliance attestations.

  • Maintain risk and control matrices and ensure compliance certifications are completed annually.

  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and represent the organization in relevant industry committees.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of tax operations experience with focus on QI, FATCA, and CRS.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. tax reporting requirements and withholding procedures.

  • Familiarity with U.S. tax certificates (W-9, W-8), Internal Revenue Code chapters 3 & 4, and relevant treasury regulations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and intermediate knowledge of other MS Office tools.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
