Description:
CN is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Operational Excellence to lead strategic HR process improvements and transformation projects from its Montreal office. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing efficiency, consistency, and service delivery across the HR function, acting as a key operational partner to senior HR leadership. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic planning, and people management skills to streamline workflows, foster innovation, and ensure alignment with evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
🔹 Operational Excellence:
Design and track HR KPIs and service performance metrics
Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in HR processes and compliance
Streamline HR operations using Lean, Six Sigma, and best practices
Implement quality assessments and feedback loops
Establish strong governance frameworks for operational risk management
🔹 Strategic Enablement:
Act as a strategic partner to the CHRO and HR leadership
Drive HR strategic forums and executive-level reporting
Oversee HR operating model governance, priorities, and budget alignment
Lead vendor management in collaboration with internal stakeholders
🔹 Project Management:
Oversee planning and execution of key HR projects
Develop and enforce project governance tools and frameworks
Ensure integration of change management strategies
Track and report outcomes and lessons learned
🔹 Team Management:
Lead hiring, onboarding, performance management, and recognition efforts
Support team development through coaching, career planning, and succession efforts
Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team
Working Conditions:
Standard office environment
Monday to Friday workweek
Minimal travel required (~10%)
Must be able to meet deadlines and manage pressure
Education/Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (required)
CPHR certification (preferred)
Master’s degree in HR or Business (preferred)
Project Management, Lean Management, and Six Sigma certifications are considered strong assets
Technical Skills:
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Visio
Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and interpreting HR operational data
Knowledge of HR technology, project management principles, and continuous improvement strategies
Competencies:

Effective communication, business acumen, and coaching ability
