Description:

Apex Systems, representing a leading Big Five Bank, is actively seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Risk Analytics to lead and enhance retail risk analytics efforts. This hybrid position is based in Downtown Toronto, requiring onsite presence once per week. The role offers a contract duration of 6 months with the potential for extension or permanent conversion, presenting an exceptional opportunity to contribute to enterprise-wide impact in a prestigious banking environment.

As the Senior Manager, you will take ownership of guiding the Client Account Management team within the Fraud division. Your primary mission will be to steer the enhancement and development of robust data analytics strategies, ensuring alignment with key business goals while fostering a culture of documentation, data integrity, and coaching excellence across a multi-level team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Fraud Client Account Management team, ensuring top-tier delivery and performance.

  • Oversee development and continuous improvement of queries tailored to dynamic business requirements.

  • Implement and maintain comprehensive documentation to address current gaps and ensure future scalability.

  • Provide coaching and mentorship to team members of varied experience levels, fostering professional development.

  • Collaborate closely with the Customer Data Integration team to oversee database query management and development.

  • Leverage advanced technical skills in Alteryx, SQL, SAS, and Power BI to strengthen analytics and reporting frameworks.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in Retail Risk Analytics.

  • Deep understanding of loss forecasting, contact center analytics, and workforce planning.

  • Technical proficiency in:

    • Alteryx

    • Power BI

    • Power Automate

    • SQL Query

    • SAS

  • Proven track record of leadership, particularly in mentoring junior to mid-level staff.

  • Experience in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments.

  • Exposure to Machine Learning and Modelling work.


Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

  • Prior experience in the banking or financial services sector.

  • Familiarity with database and risk management systems.

  • Certifications related to data analysis or risk management.
