Matrix360 is a social impact business committed to shaping the future of the Commercial Real Estate and Development (CRED) industry. They are partnering with a well-established client, a private commercial real estate investment management firm, to find a Senior Manager, Human Resources & Payroll.

In this high-impact role, you will manage HR operations and payroll administration, drive organizational transformation, and champion talent development, performance management, and DEI initiatives. Your leadership will shape the workplace culture and improve operational efficiency across Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

Human Resources Leadership:

  • Lead HR operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and alignment with organizational goals.

  • Guide senior management with strategic HR insights to inform decision-making.

  • Develop and implement forward-thinking HR policies aligned with Canada's legislative framework.

  • Manage recruitment, talent acquisition, and performance management programs to enhance engagement and retention.

  • Handle sensitive employee relations matters with discretion, and support a positive workplace culture.

  • Administer wellness initiatives, training reimbursements, and recognition programs.

  • Analyze HR metrics to support data-driven decision-making.

Payroll Management & Compliance:

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll administration, ensuring accurate processing of salaries, benefits, deductions, and remittances.

  • Ensure payroll compliance across Canada, adhering to federal and provincial labor laws, taxation requirements, and reporting mandates.

  • Lead payroll audits, reconciliations, and system upgrades to maintain operational efficiency and data integrity.

  • Provide payroll support to employees, resolving discrepancies promptly.

  • Implement payroll best practices across multiple Canadian locations, ensuring consistency and compliance.

Strategic HR Initiatives & Workplace Innovation:

  • Develop workforce planning strategies to align talent acquisition with organizational goals.

  • Design professional development programs to enhance employee skills and leadership capabilities.

  • Lead DEI efforts to foster an inclusive workplace culture.

  • Develop strategies to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and long-term retention.

  • Assess compensation structures and ensure competitiveness with industry benchmarks.

  • Support managers in addressing workplace conflicts and fostering a collaborative environment.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • 6+ years of progressive HR experience.

    • At least 2 years of leadership experience managing HR and payroll functions.

    • Expertise with ADP payroll systems.

  • Skills:

    • Critical thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to implement innovative solutions.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.

    • A passion for process enhancements, operational efficiencies, and learning.

    • Collaborative approach to team building and influencing outcomes.
