Description:

KOHO, a mission-driven fintech company dedicated to financially empowering Canadians, is seeking a Senior Manager, Payments Strategy & Operations to join their remote-first team. The role reports to the Director of Payments and involves leading a team of system analysts to manage a hybrid strategy and operations mandate for all money movement activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the “operating system” for the Payment Operations team, including intake, prioritization, project planning, sprint delivery, and automation of routine tasks.

  • Design and operationalize fund flow for new products, acting as the interface between Product, Tech, Risk, Finance, Data, and other stakeholders.

  • Lead the end-to-end financial reconciliation function, including workflow design, tooling, and automation.

  • Drive continuous improvement of KOHO’s payments stack by setting KPIs, performing impact analyses, and translating opportunities into actionable engineering roadmaps.

  • Develop and maintain standardized data models, reporting, and analytical tools, including data ingestion and publication pipelines.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Deep understanding of card and bank transaction lifecycles, financial reconciliation, and authorization/settlement processes in API-based systems.

  • Strong people management skills with a focus on coaching and developing team capabilities.

  • Tech-savvy with experience in working closely with engineering teams; comfortable reading API documentation, system logs, and architecture diagrams.

  • Highly analytical problem-solver with business acumen; proficient in SQL for data analysis, forecasting, and impact assessment.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management across technical and business teams.

  • Strong process optimization skills, with focus on measurement and efficiency.
