Deloitte Canada is seeking a Senior Manager, International Tax to join its growing tax advisory team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead complex tax engagements, collaborate with senior partners, and help multinational businesses meet their worldwide tax responsibilities while optimizing operational efficiency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Client and Engagement Leadership

  • Plan, lead, and manage international tax engagements involving corporate structuring, cross-border investments, and global tax strategy.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives, providing strategic guidance on tax planning and compliance.

  • Proactively develop and present tax strategies to clients to enhance their business operations and identify value creation opportunities.

  • Execute complex tax projects, ensuring deliverables meet high professional standards and client expectations.

Team Management and Development

  • Mentor and coach junior professionals, fostering an environment that supports growth and excellence.

  • Oversee performance development and ensure teams are aligned with Deloitte’s values of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

  • Participate in the creation and delivery of training programs to develop expertise across the tax function.

Business Development

  • Contribute to practice growth by identifying new business opportunities and strengthening client relationships.

  • Engage in networking and thought leadership initiatives to expand Deloitte’s market presence in international taxation.

Advisory and Compliance

  • Diagnose tax-related issues, develop innovative solutions, and effectively communicate recommendations to clients.

  • Ensure that all client engagements comply with legal, ethical, and professional standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive tax advisory services that integrate business and financial objectives.


Qualifications and Requirements

Education:

  • Master’s degree in accounting, law, or a related discipline.

  • Recognized professional designation (CPA, CA, or LLB).

Experience:

  • 4 to 7 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years in international tax.

  • Proven expertise in managing complex tax projects and client relationships.

  • Experience in team leadership, project management, and business development.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth understanding of international taxation principles and global tax frameworks.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • High level of integrity, accountability, and client service orientation.
