Description:

CAMH Foundation, the fundraising arm of Canada’s largest mental health teaching hospital, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager, Strategy and Governance to join their Operations team in Toronto, ON. This is a 12-month contract role with hybrid working arrangements, requiring at least two days onsite per week.

As part of the Operations team, this position plays a pivotal role in driving the execution of CAMH Foundation’s multi-year strategic and revenue generation plans. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Senior Manager will provide leadership in governance, project portfolio management, strategic alignment, and performance monitoring to ensure that CAMH Foundation achieves its ambitious goals in mental health awareness, research, innovation, and fundraising.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic & Operational Planning

  • Lead execution of the Foundation’s strategic and revenue generation plans in alignment with its mission and vision.

  • Manage development of multi-year and annual operating plans, budgets, dashboards, and risk management frameworks.

  • Ensure strategic projects are prioritized, resourced, and evaluated against long-term organizational goals.

  • Align organizational systems and processes to enhance efficiency in planning, resource allocation, and project execution.

Governance & Portfolio Management

  • Develop and maintain governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure accountability and compliance.

  • Oversee strategic project portfolio governance, ensuring transparency, performance evaluation, and ROI monitoring.

  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and fundraising teams to integrate portfolio planning with budgets and risk management.

  • Provide leadership reports and dashboards to senior leadership and the Board on progress and strategic impact.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Act as liaison between senior leadership, the COO, and delivery teams.

  • Prepare compelling presentations and reports for executive teams, Board committees, and key stakeholders.

  • Foster collaboration across teams, building trust and supporting change initiatives.

Organizational Change & Transformation

  • Partner with the Director, Business Intelligence and other leaders to improve workflows using technology and AI-driven enhancements.

  • Drive organizational change by embedding project management best practices and tools across departments.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in business administration, project management, finance, or a related discipline.

  • 6+ years of progressive project and portfolio management experience in a multi-stakeholder environment.

  • 2+ years of governance support experience.

  • Strong financial acumen, including budget development, financial modeling, and fiscal oversight.

  • Certifications such as PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent are considered assets.

  • Proven success in managing complex projects with strategic and financial components.

  • Experience with change management frameworks (Kotter, Prosci ADKAR).

  • Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Asana, Smartsheet, Monday.com) and collaboration platforms (Microsoft 365, SharePoint, MS Teams).

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, make data-driven decisions, and lead organizational transformation initiatives.
