Senior Java Developer

Description:

VTRAC Consulting Corporation (WBE) is urgently seeking a highly skilled Sr. Java Engineer for an extendable contract opportunity in the Greater Toronto Area. This role is ideal for a seasoned Java professional with extensive experience in Spring Boot, Angular, PostgreSQL, and Docker, who can contribute to mission-critical projects within the Internal Logistics Applications Team. The selected candidate will play a key role in modernizing legacy applications, enhancing regionally deployed systems, and delivering innovative new features through the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Spring Boot/MVC.

• Implement user interfaces and front-end logic using Angular 14+.

• Ensure robust database integration with PostgreSQL 15+, including data modeling and schema design.

• Set up, integrate, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Docker, Jenkins, and Git.

• Work closely with stakeholders and end users to gather requirements, resolve issues, and enhance applications.

• Actively participate in Agile SCRUM ceremonies while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Prepare detailed estimates, technical documentation, test plans, and deployment guides.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 7 years of Java development experience, specializing in Spring Framework (Spring Boot, MVC, Security, Data).

• Hands-on expertise with Angular 14+ for front-end development.

• Strong background in PostgreSQL, SQL, and data modeling.

• Proficiency with Docker, Jenkins, and Git for CI/CD and containerization.

• Experience in Agile/SCRUM environments delivering iterative solutions.

• Strong background in systems design, business analysis, and application testing.

• Knowledge of Kafka, Redis, Selenium, or JEE (WebSphere v8.5.5) is an asset.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
