S M Software Solutions Inc is seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Lead for a full-time hybrid position based in Mississauga, Canada, supporting Citi as the client. This senior-level role is ideal for professionals with strong experience in Java backend systems and leadership capabilities.

As a Senior Applications Development Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing teams engaged in backend application systems development and revisions. This includes leading analysis and programming efforts, ensuring adherence to technical standards, and aligning development work with broader technology objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead multiple technical teams, setting strategic direction and overseeing project delivery.

• Manage staffing, performance evaluations, hiring decisions, and disciplinary actions.

• Exercise control over budget, resources, and planning, ensuring high-quality outcomes.

• Apply advanced knowledge in backend applications development to solve complex challenges.

• Influence organizational practices and collaborate with senior leadership to meet business goals.

• Engage with external stakeholders and ensure compliance with established procedures and protocols.

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Java backend applications development, including team management.

• Proven experience in managing global technology teams and delivering enterprise-grade solutions.

• Strong understanding of industry standards, software development life cycle (SDLC), and project management.

• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
