Senior Interior Designer

 

Description:

We are seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join our team. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design (CIDA accredited institution preferred), Architecture, or related discipline. Candidates must have 6+ years of working experience, and be a licensed Interior Designer with NCIDQ completed or in progress.

Reporting to the Interior Design Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for concept design planning, design development, construction documentation, specifications, contract administration, coordination of project team activities, and meeting project requirements and objectives through to project completion. You will be able to manage projects and direct and mentor the project team under the direction of the Interior Design Lead

Job Skills and Requirements

  • Creative direction and concept and project development
  • Strong skills in sketching and rendering by hand or computer
  • Ability to direct team members to develop design and technical documentation
  • Reviews design for accuracy, building code compliance, universal design standards, and best practices
  • Review and coordination of consultant drawings
  • Knowledgeable in the selection and integration of furniture, fixture, and equipment (FF&E), interior finishes, lighting, and signage/wayfinding
  • Knowledge of design principles, industry trends, research, construction methodology, and standard application of materials and finishes
  • Develops and delivers furniture packages and coordinates with vendors to ensure project requirements are met
  • Reviews and produces cost estimates
  • Ability to manage project budgetary constraints and ensure overall design intent is met
  • Conducts programming activities such as client interviews, surveys, presentations, workshops, and space planning and functional programming
  • Responsible for Project Management and Contract Administration phase responding to RFIs, CCOs, COs, shop drawing reviews, site visits, and field reports
  • May assists with bidding documents, award of construction contracts, and negotiating fees and contracts
  • Understanding of the architectural design process and integration of interior design concepts
  • Participates in business development, marketing, and proposals
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office
  • Preferred knowledge in Revit, 3D modeling (Sketchup), and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong time management and scheduling skills to successfully meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Verbal and written communication presentation and graphic communication
