Senior Financial Planner

 

Description:

As a Senior Financial Planner within CIBC’s, you’ll manage a complex portfolio of clients, delivering personalized financial planning and trusted investment advice. You will create comprehensive, long-term financial plans, while helping clients achieve goals related to homeownership, business establishment, retirement, and wealth transfer. The role is fully on-site and requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and across multiple banking centres.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with clients and deliver meaningful, personalized financial advice.

  • Create comprehensive financial plans tailored to investment, retirement, and credit needs.

  • Grow a client portfolio through relationship building, networking, and local market expertise.

  • Develop sales strategies to convert leads into new clients and increase referrals.

  • Mentor and coach a team of advisors, supporting their development and decision-making.

  • Champion CIBC’s Imperial Service approach through exceptional service and client care.

  • Work collaboratively with diverse teams to provide integrated financial guidance.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in financial advisory roles.

  • In-depth knowledge of intergenerational, estate, and retirement planning.

  • CIRO-ID licensing in good standing (CPH, WME required).

  • CFP certification required upon hire.

  • For Quebec: AMF licensing, CIFC or CSC completion, RRC designation.

  • Asset: CSI/ICB Investment & Taxation Fundamentals (0774) and Legal & Ethical Aspects (0790).

  • Strong relationship-building, client service, financial planning, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends.
