Senior Financial Analyst
Location: Downtown Toronto, ON
Our client, a highly respected investment management organization located in downtown Toronto, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst / Manager, Financial Reporting to join their team on a contract basis.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role responsible for financial reporting, complex consolidations, investment accounting, audit coordination, compliance reporting, and supporting the administration of investment-related entities and structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements, management reporting packages, and supporting analyses.
- Lead complex multi-entity and multi-layer consolidations across partnership structures, investment vehicles, and related entities, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial reporting.
- Perform consolidation adjustments, intercompany eliminations, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.
- Support accounting and reporting activities related to investment entities, partnerships, holding companies, and investment portfolios.
- Assist with valuation reviews, investment accounting, and financial performance reporting.
- Coordinate annual audits and act as the primary liaison with external auditors.
- Support tax compliance, HST reporting, and other regulatory filing requirements.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts, financial analyses, and management reporting to support business decision-making.
- Ensure the integrity of general ledger balances, financial records, and internal controls.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency, controls, and accuracy.
Qualifications
- CPA designation required or in progress with strong relevant experience.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting, accounting, consolidations, fund accounting, investment operations, or finance.
- Strong hands-on experience with complex consolidations, including multi-entity structures, intercompany eliminations, consolidation entries, and consolidated financial statement preparation.
- Experience within asset management, investment management, banking, wealth management, private equity, fund administration, or financial services environments.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or ASPE reporting standards.
- Exposure to IFRS 9, financial instruments, investment accounting, valuations, treasury, foreign exchange, or regulatory reporting is considered an asset.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on individual contributor role.
