Our client is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst for a 6 months contract with a strong possibility of extension.
Location: 3 days in office located in Hamilton, Ontario
This role will be responsible for comprehensive financial reporting, analysis, and reconciliations while working closely with operational finance partners on budgeting and rate-setting activities.
About the Opportunity
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and complete month-end reporting with detailed month-over-month and year-over-year analysis
- Support high-volume reporting requirements for senior stakeholders and Council
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance trends
- Budgeting & Rate Management
- Support rate-setting processes and rate adjustments based on operational feedback
- Assist with investment tracking and request analysis
- Reconciliations & Controls
- Perform end-to-end bank, cash, and accounts receivable reconciliations
- Prepare monthly journal entries related to bank reconciliations
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial data and reporting
About You
- Strong SFA background with hands-on experience in financial analysis and reporting
- Month-end reporting expertise including comparative analysis capabilities
- Budgeting and forecasting experience
- Rate-setting experience working with operational finance partners
- Reconciliation expertise in bank, cash, and AR processes
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Excel skills
