Senior Financial Analyst

Description:

Capital One Canada is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join its dynamic Finance team based in Toronto. This individual will play a pivotal role in the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function, driving strategic decisions through accurate financial modeling, reporting, and forecasting.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will act as a strategic business partner and financial advisor to multiple business functions including Credit and Product teams. Your work will directly support portfolio management, P&L analysis, forecast planning, and business case development for key strategic initiatives. This role offers a hybrid work model, with in-office days set for Tuesdays through Thursdays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead forecasting and financial planning, ensuring accurate data input in the financial systems.

• Manage accruals, reclass entries, and month-end variance analyses.

• Act as a financial point of contact for business units and provide P&L-related guidance.

• Support executive-level reporting and present insights through data-backed narratives.

• Partner with business units to develop financial projection models for the Canadian portfolio.

• Participate in automation and strategic financial projects, including process improvements and new financial views.

• Support ad hoc analysis and insights delivery to aid in business decisions.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree

• At least 3 years of finance-related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA, CPA, or CFA designation

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

• Strong command of Excel, Essbase, PowerPoint

• Familiarity with Python is a plus

• Ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality, timely outputs

• Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic business environment

• Experience in building financial tools, models, and automation processes
