Description:
- functions and new initiatives of the services of the corporation.
- Communicates and works collaboratively with other team members on the Corporate needs to prepare the regular performance/financial management reports for operations.
- Prepares highly complex, confidential and complex reports at a corporate level.
- Assists the Director and the BFP management teams (through their team) in preparation of the annual Current and Capital Budgets for the organization.
- Prepares the Operating Financial Triannual Performance Report for Council.
- Reviews and enhances regular capital and operating reports, including salary, benefit and wage analysis to ensure that relevant information is reported to the Commissioner, CFO, CAO, ELT, Regional Council and external organizations as required.
- Liaises with senior staff in the Corporation on financial analysis and reporting issues and projects.
- Serves on departmental and corporate task forces and committees to represent corporate financial and business planning concerns.
- Assists the BFP Director, BCP Manager, BCP Supervisors, and CFO/Commissioner in developing, customizing financial policies and protocols for the department.
- Other duties as assigned.
What the role requires:
Educational Background/Must Haves/Bonafide Job Requirements:
- Relevant University Degree and professional accounting designation. (CA, CMA, CGA)
- Minimum of 5 years experience in an automated financial environment or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong and productive working relationships with all team members, management and with internal and external contacts.
- Ability to participate effectively within a team environment and work independently.
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
