Description:

Mattagami AKI is seeking a Financial Controller to oversee and maintain the financial health of the organization. This role is pivotal in managing financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, compliance, and risk management, supporting strategic financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Duties

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and publish monthly and annual financial statements.

• Accounting Operations: Supervise daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop budget forecasts and monitor financial performance against organizational goals.

• Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

• Internal Controls: Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard assets and financial data.

• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks through strategic policy development.

• Financial Strategy: Participate in strategic planning to align financial management with business objectives.

• Audit Process: Manage and facilitate internal and external audits.

• Staff Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.

• Process Improvement: Continuously enhance financial systems and procedures for efficiency.

• Tax Filings: Oversee the organization’s tax planning and compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.

• Experience: Extensive experience in financial management and public accounting.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, including advanced Excel skills.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, compliance regulations, and risk management.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
