Architecture49 Inc. (A49) is actively seeking a dynamic and visionary leader for the position of President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This top-level executive role is responsible for directing the firm’s strategic vision and operational performance while preserving its distinguished reputation for architectural design excellence and innovation across Canada.
The President/CEO will lead a national team of senior managers and architects, foster a culture of collaboration and innovation, and guide the firm through sustainable growth in an evolving industry. A successful candidate will need a balance of creative leadership and sharp business acumen to drive both design excellence and financial strength.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Strategic Leadership:
Lead development and execution of A49’s long-term strategic goals in partnership with senior leadership.
Define and assess annual objectives in alignment with the firm’s mission.
Motivate and engage staff to meet ambitious business and design goals.
Operational Management:
Oversee national operations ensuring efficiency, regulatory compliance, and adherence to WSP policies.
Manage financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, and reporting.
Team Leadership and Development:
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing leadership team.
Promote a work culture rooted in collaboration, innovation, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
Represent A49 at industry events and public engagements.
Cultivate and strengthen national client relationships.
Business Development:
Drive growth by identifying market opportunities and implementing development strategies.
Ensure market competitiveness and responsiveness to evolving client needs.
Innovation and Design Excellence:
Advocate for cutting-edge, sustainable design solutions.
Support architectural innovation through research and emerging technologies.
Governance and Reporting:
Deliver quarterly reports to the Board on performance and strategic progress.
Provide leadership in governance, risk management, and crisis response.
Required Qualifications:
Accredited degree in Architecture with eligibility for licensure in all Canadian provinces.
Over 20 years of experience in the industry with a track record in senior leadership.
Recognized leader in architectural practice with exceptional communication and leadership skills.
Bilingual in English and French considered a strong asset.
Compensation:
Starting salary of CAD 250,000 per annum (approx. CAD 20833 per month), with variation based on qualifications and experience.
