Gartner is seeking a Senior Director, Analyst – Cyber Security Services to join its Research and Advisory team. This remote position (Canada-based) is tailored for seasoned cybersecurity professionals with a deep understanding of managing cybersecurity services portfolios. The successful candidate will lead the creation of impactful, data-driven research that guides Gartner clients—technology product and service providers—through strategic decision-making to accelerate their revenue growth in the cybersecurity services domain.
This role emphasizes a high level of expertise in cybersecurity consulting, professional services, and managed services, enabling clients to differentiate in competitive markets and leverage emerging trends to drive growth.
Create authoritative, innovative, and actionable research specific to the cybersecurity services market
Analyze and identify business opportunities, client challenges, and competitive dynamics
Provide thought leadership on cybersecurity consulting, professional services, and managed services
Engage with clients through 1:1 inquiries, virtual meetings, executive briefings, and industry conferences
Offer strategic guidance to senior executives and services portfolio leaders
Present at Gartner events and support the sales process for technology service clients
Collaborate with peer analysts and validate research positions to ensure client impact
Visualize and deliver compelling insights using tools like PowerBI and Excel
Cyber Security Consulting – advisory services including audits, compliance, strategy, and policy
Cyber Security Professional Services – technical services like testing, assessments, solution integration
Managed Cyber Security Services – long-term outsourced services for process and operational management
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (graduate degree preferred)
Minimum of 10 years of experience in cybersecurity services
Experience across the full lifecycle of service management (strategy, delivery, pricing, packaging, end-of-life)
Deep knowledge of key service segments, best practices, technologies, and vendor landscapes
Strong analytical and business acumen with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in data analysis, synthesis, and visualization (Excel, PowerBI, etc.)
Comfortable presenting complex research in both small and large settings
Familiarity with industry data sources (Pitchbook, Bloomberg, CapIQ, TechCrunch, etc.)
Ability to work independently in a highly matrixed, multicultural environment
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and willing to travel occasionally for global engagements
