Description:
Queen’s Student Alumni Association is seeking a Senior Director, Student Equity, Inclusion and Belonging to join their senior leadership team in Student Affairs. The role leads the development and implementation of proactive Indigenization, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Anti-Racist (IEDIAA) initiatives aligned with strategic priorities. The Senior Director oversees special projects and initiatives, facilitates conversations among units in Student Affairs, and engages diverse communities including faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
This role provides leadership for multiple student support centres, including the Queen’s University International Centre, Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre, Yellow House Student Centre for Equity and Inclusion, Ban Righ Centre, and Faith and Spiritual Life. The incumbent will drive systemic change, policy review, program development, strategic partnerships, financial management, and staff leadership while promoting an equitable, inclusive, and anti-racist campus environment.
Qualifications:
Graduate university degree in equity, social justice, education, or related field
Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in post-secondary education
Demonstrated success in leading IEDIAA initiatives, program design, and implementation
In-depth knowledge of anti-oppression, critical race theory, equity theory, and intersectionality
Must be a member of a racialized or minority group in Canada
Strong communication, strategic thinking, change management, and leadership skills
Responsibilities:
Develop and lead strategic initiatives addressing systemic barriers to inclusion
Manage Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging portfolio units
Collaborate with staff, students, and university leaders on IEDIAA initiatives
Review policies and practices to eliminate biases and barriers
Lead financial management of portfolio budgets
Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management for staff
Represent the Division on campus-wide committees and activities
Work Arrangements:
On-site, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
