Senior Data Scientist

Description:

Geotab, a global leader in IoT and connected transportation solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join its Oakville team. In this role, you will work at the intersection of advanced analytics, machine learning, and business strategy, helping to optimize fleet management, enhance safety, and drive sustainability through data-driven insights. You will be responsible for creating algorithms, predictive models, and advanced analyses to solve complex business challenges while collaborating with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain metrics, reports, dashboards, and advanced analytics to inform business decisions.

• Implement new statistical or mathematical methodologies for advanced data analysis.

• Build predictive models and algorithms to extract actionable insights from large datasets.

• Conduct causality and A/B experiments to analyze root causes of business results.

• Query Big Data platforms (e.g., Google BigQuery) and construct production-ready datasets.

• Leverage machine learning tools (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow) to develop and optimize models.

• Test and evaluate data-driven products, making recommendations for enhancements.

• Work closely with internal technical teams and external partners to gather requirements and deliver data solutions.
