Senior Data Engineer

Description:

Futran Solutions is seeking a skilled and passionate Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in Python and AWS. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data engineering applications, primarily using Java and AWS cloud services. The ideal candidate will be deeply involved in software architecture and development while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust data solutions.

Experience or background in capital markets or the financial services industry is considered an asset. Familiarity with Databricks is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust applications using Java and AWS technologies.

• Collaborate with teams across functions to analyze business and technical requirements, then architect suitable solutions.

• Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code focused on performance.

• Participate actively in code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.

• Keep up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in software development and cloud computing.

Required Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience in Python programming.

• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS services.

• Proven expertise in software design, data engineering, and data analysis.

• Ability to write high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code.

• Excellent problem-solving capabilities.

• Strong communication skills to work collaboratively across teams.

Preferred (Nice to Have):

• Understanding of capital markets or financial services industry.

• Experience working with Databricks platform.
