Senior Data Architect

Description:

Kraft Heinz, one of the world’s most iconic food and beverage companies, is seeking a Senior Data Architect to join its Toronto-based team. This role is ideal for a seasoned data professional passionate about building modern, cloud-based data ecosystems that enable analytics, insight generation, and data-driven decision-making across a global enterprise. The successful candidate will play a key part in designing, implementing, and optimizing data architecture frameworks that align with Kraft Heinz’s strategic objectives, ensuring scalability, data integrity, and performance efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement robust, scalable data management frameworks supporting business intelligence, analytics, and data governance initiatives.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Owners, Business Stewards, Data Scientists, and end-users to translate business needs into data architecture solutions.

• Develop and maintain the structure of the organization’s data lake house architecture, optimizing data storage, access, and security.

• Establish and document database structures, schemas, table definitions, and naming conventions for consistency and performance.

• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to align data product delivery with long-term strategic roadmaps.

• Ensure adherence to data governance and quality standards while continuously enhancing the reliability and usability of enterprise data models.

• Simplify existing architectures by introducing reusable components and cost-efficient practices.

• Drive improvements in data standards, guidelines, and architectural best practices across the organization.

• Support the design and delivery of data products within commercial and analytics functions leveraging diverse data sources—internal systems, market data, and consumer insights.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data architecture, enterprise data warehousing, or large-scale data systems.

• Proven expertise in designing logical, physical, and conceptual data models (experience with ERWIN, ER/STUDIO preferred).

• Proficiency in SQL and cloud-based data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or BigQuery.

• Experience with data orchestration frameworks and ELT tools, and Python libraries (dbt, pandas, great expectations, etc.).

• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.

• Hands-on experience integrating data from multiple internal and external sources.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.

• Business acumen and analytical mindset with the ability to align technical architecture with organizational goals.

• Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the consumer goods or retail industry.

• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and master data management principles.
