Senior Data Architect

Description:

VTRAC Consulting Corporation is seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect to lead the company's data architecture strategy and modernization efforts. This role focuses on building scalable, secure, and innovative data solutions in a cloud-native environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in AI, data modernization, and leading the development of high-performance data platforms that enable advanced AI capabilities like intelligent assistants, agents, and autonomous AI actors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize APIs and message bus integrations for applications and services.

• Lead the modernization and scalability of a mission-critical cloud-native data platform.

• Architect and implement real-time and batch processing strategies using PostgreSQL and Snowflake.

• Enable AI-driven capabilities by supporting LLMs and vector databases.

• Define and enforce data governance, security policies, and architectural best practices.

• Collaborate with engineering and intelligence teams for seamless data integrations.

• Build robust ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.

• Support AI/ML platforms with scalable, flexible architecture.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering teams.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data platforms.

• Proven expertise with PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and cloud-based data services (preferably AWS).

• Deep understanding of streaming platforms such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Pulsar.

• Hands-on experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus).

• Proficiency in data orchestration tools like Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.

• Experience with modern data transformation frameworks (e.g., dbt, Flink, Spark Structured Streaming).

• Familiarity with data mesh, lakehouse architecture, and semantic modeling.

• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Proven experience defining architecture roadmaps and implementing architecture review processes.

• University degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
