Description:
Humankind Global Recruitment is seeking an experienced and creatively driven Senior Copywriter for a leading Canadian-based marketing agency that operates as part of a global network of agencies. This hybrid role is based in Halifax, NS, and requires in-office presence two days a week.
The selected candidate will report to the Creative Manager and collaborate closely with marketing and design teams. The core responsibility will be the development of high-impact, conversion-focused copy while maintaining brand voice, tone, and narrative consistency across diverse platforms and campaigns.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strategic thinking with exceptional writing skills, and who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented creative environment. You’ll be actively involved in conceptual development and play a critical part in shaping communication strategies and delivering compelling content that drives results.
Key Responsibilities:
Own and manage a variety of copy tasks and projects across multiple brands and timelines
Interpret creative briefs and deliver effective copy aligned with business goals and brand vision
Craft messaging for digital ad creatives, video/audio scripts, 360 campaigns, lifecycle marketing, and more
Collaborate with design teams (including Figma usage) to create engaging and visually aligned content
Develop and maintain consistent brand voice and tone, including for new or emerging brands
Mentor junior writers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives
Continuously refine messaging based on industry trends, consumer insights, and creative direction
Ensure all content upholds brand quality standards with a keen eye for detail, grammar, and accuracy
Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years of professional writing experience
Proven background in an agency, design studio, or equivalent creative environment
Versatile writing portfolio showcasing expertise across platforms and industries
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
Experience with Figma to coordinate with visual designers
Strong understanding of content marketing, brand storytelling, and conversion strategies
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Interest in sports is considered an asset
Ability to clearly communicate ideas and contribute to strategic presentations
