Senior Coordinator

 

Description:

Queen’s University’s Health Sciences – Clinical Trials Support Unit (CTSU) is seeking a Senior Clinical Research Coordinator to manage the administration and implementation of complex, multi-centre, multi-modality clinical trials. Reporting to the Director of Research Operations, the incumbent will ensure that all clinical research activities comply with regulatory standards and institutional policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple clinical trials, ensuring compliance with protocols, ethics approvals, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Coordinate participant identification, recruitment, informed consent, screening, enrollment, data collection, and follow-up.

  • Maintain study databases, essential documentation, and trial master files.

  • Manage investigational products, including storage, accountability, and participant instructions.

  • Liaise with investigators, clinical staff, research associates, pharmacists, industry partners, and trial committees.

  • Develop trial documents such as protocols, ethics submissions, funding applications, training materials, and monitoring plans.

  • Supervise, train, and mentor junior coordinators and research staff.

  • Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure adherence to study requirements.

  • Handle financial transactions including invoicing, account reconciliation, and participant reimbursement.

  • Represent Queen’s University in local and international trial collaborations.

Required Skills:

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic data capture systems.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of clinical data interpretation and medical documentation.
