Description:
Queen’s University’s Health Sciences – Clinical Trials Support Unit (CTSU) is seeking a Senior Clinical Research Coordinator to manage the administration and implementation of complex, multi-centre, multi-modality clinical trials. Reporting to the Director of Research Operations, the incumbent will ensure that all clinical research activities comply with regulatory standards and institutional policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple clinical trials, ensuring compliance with protocols, ethics approvals, and regulatory guidelines.
Coordinate participant identification, recruitment, informed consent, screening, enrollment, data collection, and follow-up.
Maintain study databases, essential documentation, and trial master files.
Manage investigational products, including storage, accountability, and participant instructions.
Liaise with investigators, clinical staff, research associates, pharmacists, industry partners, and trial committees.
Develop trial documents such as protocols, ethics submissions, funding applications, training materials, and monitoring plans.
Supervise, train, and mentor junior coordinators and research staff.
Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure adherence to study requirements.
Handle financial transactions including invoicing, account reconciliation, and participant reimbursement.
Represent Queen’s University in local and international trial collaborations.
Required Skills:
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic data capture systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse stakeholders.
Knowledge of clinical data interpretation and medical documentation.
