Senior Coordinator

 

Description:

UNICEF Canada is looking for a Senior Coordinator, Youth Programs to support the Manager, Youth Participation, in administering youth programs like U-Report Canada and the Youth Advocacy Program. This position focuses on providing opportunities for young people to engage meaningfully in policy advocacy, working with diverse youth populations and fostering partnerships with institutions and civil society to promote youth participation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer U-Report (40%)

    • Co-develop youth-friendly poll questions ensuring ethical adherence.

    • Manage the backend scheduling, testing, and data analysis of polls.

    • Prepare and disseminate poll results, maintain the online dashboard, and deliver presentations.

    • Coordinate with the Steering Committee to implement U-Report on a national scale.

  • Youth Advocacy Program (35%)

    • Support the Manager in delivering the Youth Advocacy Program and co-facilitate sessions.

    • Contribute to the development of course materials, curriculum, and resources.

    • Assist youth participants in creating advocacy plans.

  • Recruit U-Reporters (20%)

    • Co-create recruitment and promotion strategies for national scale.

    • Collaborate with youth organizations and attend events to recruit U-Reporters.

    • Work with the Marketing & Communications team to implement digital campaigns.

  • Support U-Report Ambassadors (5%)

    • Recruit, onboard, and train new U-Report Ambassadors.

    • Facilitate opportunities for Ambassadors to participate in advocacy activities and events.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in research analysis, social policy, communications, or related fields.

  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in communications or youth engagement.

  • Experience with statistical data analysis.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.

  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to travel independently within Canada.

  • Experience with chatbot technology (an asset).

  • Bilingualism in English and French (an asset).
