Senior Broker

Description:

Aon, a global leader in risk management and insurance solutions, is seeking a Senior Broker for its Public Sector segment based in Toronto, ON. This position is part of one of Aon's largest industry segments and is ideal for professionals who thrive in collaborative environments and are passionate about impacting the public sector positively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Account Executives to develop effective insurance coverage strategies and marketing plans for both renewal and new business clients.

• Analyze client-specific risk exposures and determine coverage needs; prepare and present professional marketing proposals.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with the underwriting community to secure optimal terms and pricing for clients.

• Negotiate policy terms and pricing with insurers on behalf of clients.

• Provide expert-level guidance to clients and colleagues on insurance coverage and placement.

• Identify service gaps and recommend enhancements to better meet client needs.

• Review and verify policies, endorsements, contracts, and other documentation for accuracy.

• Oversee and approve documentation related to new contracts, changes, renewals, and policy endorsements.

• Lead and mentor junior brokers and support staff.

• Create manuscript policies and endorsements; calculate premiums, taxes, fees, and adjustments.

• Ensure full compliance with Aon’s internal systems and documentation processes.

• Perform ongoing follow-up for outstanding documentation and client servicing needs.

• Carry out other related duties as assigned to support business goals and service excellence.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial insurance marketing or broking.

• A valid broker license is mandatory.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and insurers.

• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team.

Work Environment & Additional Information:

• Primary work location is on-site in Toronto; however, flexibility for hybrid work may be available from Toronto, Calgary, or Winnipeg offices.

• Legal authorization to work in Canada is required; this position is not eligible for sponsorship.
