Iris Software Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer (Python – Retail Banking AI) to join a dynamic project team supporting one of its Fortune 100 clients in the financial services industry. The role involves designing, developing, and optimizing AI-powered backend systems that drive innovation in retail banking and enhance customer experience through intelligent automation and scalable architecture.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on Python developer with deep expertise in backend systems, AI workflow integration, and cloud-based infrastructure. This position provides an opportunity to work with advanced technologies such as AWS Bedrock and Copilot Studio, contributing to the next generation of AI-driven financial platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop high-performance backend systems and RESTful APIs using Python frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django.

• Architect scalable and secure solutions tailored for retail banking AI applications, ensuring compliance with financial data standards.

• Integrate AI workflows using AWS Bedrock and Copilot Studio to enable intelligent data processing and automation.

• Collaborate with data scientists and AI engineers to deploy, manage, and optimize machine learning models in production environments.

• Implement and manage databases, ensuring optimal schema design, query performance, and data consistency.

• Develop CI/CD pipelines to automate build, testing, and deployment processes for faster, reliable code releases.

• Monitor system performance using tools like CloudWatch, New Relic, and PagerDuty, ensuring uptime, scalability, and responsiveness.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend, mobile, and product teams to deliver seamless integration and user experience.

• Ensure backend security, reliability, and regulatory compliance, particularly within financial data ecosystems.

• Stay ahead of emerging technologies in AI, cloud computing, and backend development, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong proficiency in Python with hands-on experience in frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django.

• Solid understanding of cloud computing platforms, particularly AWS (experience with AWS Bedrock and related services preferred).

• Familiarity with Copilot Studio for AI and automation integration.

• Expertise in API development, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.

• Strong grasp of databases, both SQL and NoSQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

• Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps best practices.

• Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, New Relic, PagerDuty).

• Knowledge of AI model deployment and lifecycle management is a strong plus.

• Ability to work in hybrid and cross-functional team environments, with effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
