As the Senior Audit Manager, Third Party Risk you will report to the Audit Director, Third Party Risk, Infrastructure and will be expected to have proven experience and knowledge in Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) and leading Infrastructure Operations entity audits. You will provide Third Party Risk, Capital Markets, Retail and Wealth Management Operations expertise while promoting compliance with CIBC policies and procedures, standards, guidelines, and relevant legislation. You’ll provide insight and proactive control advice to management and stakeholders on control weaknesses, efficiencies and emerging risks to the bank by leading or participating in the planning, execution and reporting of audits within the TPRM and Infrastructure Operations portfolio, as well as supporting other Internal Audit groups, as needed.

How you’ll succeed

  • Third party risk management - Provides audit and testing guidance support to IA team members and liaison with other CIBC Lines of Defence to identify and mitigate Third Party Risks. Build, maintain and foster strong partnerships with relevant stakeholders across CIBC. Monitor and follow-up on Third Party Risk audit and regulatory deficiencies to ensure timely completion of management's remediation action plans.

  • Audit planning – Develop the annual Third Party Risk audit plan by identifying the auditable entities, required resources and interdependencies across CIBC's business lines using an end-to-end approach. Conduct in-depth analysis to complete Infrastructure Operations entity risk assessments.

  • Audit reporting - Support the Third Party Risk reporting component of the audits and complete Infrastructure Operations audit reports, such that deficiencies are clear, concise, professional and issued in a timely manner and action plans provide realistic and workable solutions. Support the provision quarterly Business Updates and Board reporting.

  • Audit execution - Work collaboratively in a leadership capacity to plan and execute risk-based audits, report audit results and perform continuous monitoring of management’s control environment. Champion best practices throughout CIBC and keep abreast of regulatory developments and emerging issues affecting CIBC and Internal Audit. Effectively manage multiple audits and internal projects at different stages to ensure completion within prescribed timelines including managing deficiencies and assessing whether actions remediated the risks. Communicate regularly on progress and issues. Review audit work to ensure a high level of quality and compliance with audit standards.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience in planning & executing audits. You have comprehensive knowledge of auditing practices, accounting standards, regulatory requirements and Risk Management principles. You have experience in one/more areas including, Third Party Risk Management, Operations, Capital Markets, Wealth Management or Retail Services functions within a large financial institution.

  • You are a professional and can demonstrate experience of at least 5 years in auditing in the financial services sector with a focus on third party governance, supplier and vendor management, procurement, contracts and agreements, as well as the related regulatory environment Globally. You have current accreditation and good standing for one of the following designations (e.g. CA, CPA, CIA, MBA, CTPRP, C3PRMP, CSMP) or equivalent.
