Description:
The Team Leader, Real Property Management oversees multiple project-management support teams delivering complex real property, land, facility, and infrastructure programs. The role includes leading technical specialists, managing real property projects, developing policies and performance indicators, ensuring quality deliverables, and maintaining strong relationships with Client-Partners. This position requires leadership, strategic planning, technical expertise, and the ability to manage risk, performance, and human resources. Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee multiple real property project management teams Complete complex real property work: studies, asset assessments, facility reviews, leasing/land acquisition guidance Conduct strategic planning, develop master real property development plans, and implement policies & standards Research, develop, and track real property performance indicators Prepare business cases, SORs, and investigate operational requirements Develop training programs and real property management frameworks Provide guidance on project objectives, procurement, schedules, and performance tracking Create information management strategies for real property reporting Manage service level agreements Promote business development opportunities Build and maintain relationships with Client-Partners and stakeholders Ensure quality assurance aligned with corporate and client expectations Perform human resources duties: coaching, mentoring, supervising, performance management Manage risk and support operational excellence Perform other related duties as required Qualifications: Minimum: College diploma in: Land use Engineering Architecture Facility/Property management Business Or related field Minimum 6 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred: University degree (same fields as above) Project management training or certification Required Skills: Strong knowledge of real property, land use, facility management, and maintenance best practices Financial management and HR management understanding Experience with maintenance planning and assessments Knowledge of BIM/CAD (asset) Project management and risk management Ability to write policies, business cases, SOWs for complex projects Strong leadership and people-management skills Proficiency with relevant computer software Desired Characteristics: Excellent communication and stakeholder management Strong analytical and decision-making abilities Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams Collaborative approach with Client-Partners Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and ethical conduct Ability to manage sensitive information responsibly Additional Requirements: Security Clearance: SECRET Must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident Minimum 10 years verifiable background needed for Secret Clearance Must comply with DCC’s Code of Business Conduct Bilingual Mandatory (English/French) Occasional travel; some work may be on construction sites Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance Employment may be terminated if clearance cannot be maintained Workplace accommodations available Benefits: 100% employer-paid sick leave and health/dental premiums $400 annual wellness allowance $1,500 mental health coverage (plus $1,500 paramedical) Telus virtual healthcare + $750 Health Spending Account Life, AD&D, and disability insurance Parental/maternity top-up to 93% for 37 weeks Flexible workplace options + $400 home office allowance Public-service pension Comprehensive paid leave and travel benefits Inclusive, diverse workplace culture
