Nicola Wealth, a leading Canadian wealth management firm recognized for its sophisticated planning, diversified private investment funds, award-winning culture, and 99% client retention rate, is seeking a Senior Analyst or Associate to join its Venture Capital & Growth Equity team in Toronto. With approximately $1.3 billion in AUM across Nicola Private Equity and Venture Capital Funds, the firm manages evergreen portfolios that span direct co-investments, fund investments, and secondaries across North America and globally. The successful candidate will support investment strategy execution, conduct due diligence, and manage capital across both Nicola Venture Capital LP and Nicola Private Equity LP.
This role offers a chance to engage in meaningful work across VC and Growth Equity transactions, collaborating with top-tier fund managers, sourcing deals, and building relationships within the investment ecosystem.
Analyze and evaluate new investment opportunities including funds, secondaries, and direct investments
Support development and execution of the firm’s Venture Capital and Growth Equity direct investment strategy
Conduct in-depth financial modeling, valuation analyses, and market research to assess investment attractiveness
Prepare detailed investment committee materials and memos
Build and maintain strong relationships with fund managers and external partners
Monitor existing investments and contribute to quarterly and ad-hoc reporting
Assist in fund-level cash flow modeling, exposure analysis, and forecasting
Attend industry events, engage with GPs, and proactively source new opportunities
Contribute to broader team efforts including marketing materials and project-based work
Investment Acumen: Solid understanding of VC and growth equity strategies, with strong awareness of the tech sector
Analytical Thinking: Excellent research, modeling, and critical thinking skills to develop investment insights and decisions
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills; ability to present complex investment concepts with clarity
Self-Leadership: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Collaboration: Strong team player with high integrity, ownership, and a proactive mindset
Curiosity: Inquisitive and motivated to continuously learn new sectors, strategies, and technologies
3–7 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or similar fields
Undergraduate degree in finance, business, accounting, or a related field
Financial designations (CFA, CPA, CA, CBV) are considered assets
Proven experience in due diligence, M&A transactions, or growth-stage investment environments
Strong accounting and financial modeling capabilities
Effective execution and support of investment origination, diligence, and portfolio management
Contribution to high-quality deal sourcing and transaction closings
Successful maintenance and strengthening of industry and partner relationships
Delivery of detailed analysis that supports fund strategy and portfolio growth
Continuous learning and development aligned with personal and firm goals
Base Salary: CAD 90,000 – 140,000 annually → CAD 7500 – 11666 monthly
