Senior Accountant

GVR LLP, a rapidly growing CPA firm based in Markham, Ontario, is seeking an experienced Manager/Senior Accountant to join its expanding team. The firm provides a wide range of professional services including audit, accounting, tax, and business consulting to corporations and individuals across Canada and internationally. In this role, you will lead engagement teams to successfully complete assurance and compilation engagements for private companies and not-for-profit organizations. You will also be responsible for overseeing corporate, individual, and trust income tax return preparation, conducting tax planning for owner-managed businesses, identifying and addressing operational and control system issues, and presenting value-added solutions to clients. Furthermore, you will supervise team members, coach junior staff, research complex tax and assurance issues, and foster strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead assurance and compilation engagements for private and not-for-profit clients.

• Prepare or oversee corporate, individual, and trust income tax returns ensuring compliance with regulations.

• Conduct tax planning for owner-managed businesses.

• Identify business operation and control issues, providing strategic solutions.

• Supervise, manage, and mentor team members to achieve engagement goals.

• Research and resolve complex assurance and tax matters.

• Respond to client inquiries and maintain strong professional relationships.

Education & Qualifications:

• CPA designation or equivalent required.

• Minimum 3–4 years of relevant experience with public accounting firms.

• Strong technical knowledge of ASPE and Canadian income tax.

• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and relationship management skills.

• Valid driver’s license to travel to client locations as required.
