Description:

Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) is seeking a Project Leader (Enterprise Cloud Applications Architecture) to join its Information Technology team.
This role is responsible for project management, enterprise cloud solution design, business analysis, and client support across the university’s IT systems.
The successful candidate will provide leadership in cloud architecture, manage system integrations, and collaborate with stakeholders to align technology initiatives with institutional goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the evaluation, design, and implementation of enterprise cloud solutions.

  • Manage multiple concurrent IT projects and coordinate across departments.

  • Translate business requirements into technical and functional specifications.

  • Oversee enterprise architecture design, ensuring scalability and interoperability.

  • Support post-secondary ERP systems, including Ellucian Banner and integrated applications.

  • Develop and optimize cloud-based ERP environments and data integrations.

  • Perform system design, process analysis, and workflow documentation.

  • Provide technical mentorship and stakeholder guidance on infrastructure and integrations.

  • Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless system operations.

  • Conduct performance monitoring, patching, and infrastructure upgrades.

  • Research, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies relevant to institutional IT goals.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years in Information Technology.

  • 5 years of direct experience in enterprise cloud architecture conception.

  • 3 years of recent related experience in post-secondary enterprise systems.

Technical Expertise:

  • Knowledge of generative AI, Agile SDLC, ITIL, and LEAN business processing (certified preferred).

  • Experience with Windows Servers, Active Directory (AD), Azure AD, and Identity & Access Management.

  • Proficiency in PowerShell, scripting, SQL, PL/SQL, Java, JavaScript, and SharePoint.

  • Familiarity with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Linux, and Windows Server.

  • Strong understanding of authentication protocols (SSO, MFA, Kerberos).

  • Expertise with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, JSON, SOAP, and integration tools (Postman, API Gateways, Insomnia, etc.).

  • Proven experience in BI tools such as Microsoft SSIS, SSRS, and Power BI.

  • Experience with AWS EC2, ECS, and containerized architectures preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a matrix-managed environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Adaptability to evolving technologies and business needs.

  • Availability to work occasional weekends or holidays.


Work Schedule:

  • Days: Monday to Friday

  • Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

  • Hours per Week: 35

  • Travel: Occasional inter-campus travel required
