Sales Representative

 

Description:

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, is hiring a Sales Rep - Key Account Manager (KAM) to maximize revenue and grow business across facilities and construction sites within a defined portfolio. The role requires developing new business, cross-selling across business units, and meeting sales targets while managing customer rental needs spanning multiple districts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maximize revenue using company tools and systems and accelerate growth.

  • Develop and maintain a robust revenue pipeline.

  • Identify and track new customers and business opportunities.

  • Generate leads through cold calls, consultative visits, equipment application expertise, and joint sales calls.

  • Execute selling process steps across assigned accounts and projects.

  • Investigate and thoroughly understand customer needs and expectations.

  • Present solution proposals tailored to customers.

  • Build long-term customer relationships through superior performance and teamwork.

  • Collaborate with key account managers for national, strategic, and government accounts as needed.

  • Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Proven success in sales, both transactional and relationship-based.

  • Ability to understand industry publications, blueprints, and construction reports (e.g., Dodge leads, PEC reports).

  • Knowledge of construction equipment and its applications.

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

  • Strong skills in selling, customer service, relationship-building, planning, problem-solving, and organization.

  • Solid computer proficiency and familiarity with business software.

  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal communication.
