Description:

Mastercard is actively seeking a Manager, Emerging Vertical Sales to join its Market Development (MD) team, based in Toronto, ON. This full-time hybrid role plays a critical part in Mastercard’s mission to grow revenue across key acceptance ecosystem partners while expanding digital payments, cyber & intelligence solutions, and adjacent platforms.

This role offers a unique opportunity for a strategic, driven, and customer-oriented professional to manage complex client relationships, lead consultative sales engagements, and drive adoption of Mastercard’s innovative payment technologies across emerging verticals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver strategic sales and account management support, based on deep customer insight and value-driven solution development.

  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities, especially among new and existing partners, with an emphasis on future revenue growth and strategic relevance.

  • Lead cross-functional efforts to drive Mastercard product adoption, including digital payments, data analytics, fraud prevention, and treasury solutions.

  • Collaborate with client executives to build long-term partnerships by mapping their business needs to Mastercard’s product portfolio.

  • Prepare detailed business cases and financial models to support new initiatives.

  • Take part in local and cross-functional projects, contributing to innovation and execution across business units.

  • Lead contract negotiation, execution, and post-sale management, ensuring consistency and alignment with Mastercard’s global strategy.

  • Bilingual capabilities (French/English) preferred due to national and cross-regional scope.


Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven track record of successfully planning and closing complex enterprise sales in high-stakes environments.

  • Experience within the payments or technology sectors, particularly in acceptance ecosystems, is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving with a passion for creating client-centric solutions.

  • Strong ability to manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, including at the executive level.

  • Skilled in navigating matrixed organizations and influencing cross-functional decision-making.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
