Sales Director

 

Description:

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics is seeking a Directeur des Ventes (Sales Director) to drive sales growth, execute strategic priorities, and foster collaboration within the Canadian and U.S. organization. This role is responsible for maintaining existing accounts, achieving sales plan targets, and developing new client relationships while selling DSV’s full suite of products and solutions, primarily DSV Road services including FTL, LTL, Parcel, Expedite, Intermodal, and Transportation Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote industry expertise and best practices across sales, product, and operations teams in Canada.

  • Participate in RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, and ad hoc opportunities, ensuring alignment with DSV processes and strategy.

  • Build and maintain a qualified sales pipeline within a defined geographic territory.

  • Target and secure clients that fit DSV’s ideal product and client profiles.

  • Sell DSV Road offerings, including specialized trucking (oversize, project shipments).

  • Review and identify sales opportunities to maintain a successful pipeline.

  • Maintain client relationships to ensure satisfaction and foster growth.

  • Coordinate successful service implementation with operational divisions.

  • Ensure smooth client handoff to account retention/development teams for long-term relationships.

  • Identify integrated service offerings through collaboration with cross-business units.

  • Maintain sustainable and continuous revenue (SOP, SLA, KPI, RFQ).

  • Engage with executive management on target clients and align DSV services with their supply chains.

  • Compile and deliver proposals and presentations aligned with company standards.

  • Provide value-focused consultations to clients connecting their needs to DSV solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or Logistics preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the transportation industry, including domestic and cross-border trucking brokerage.

  • 5 years of relevant experience outside of sales.

  • Fluent in French and English (verbal and written).

  • Advanced understanding of supply chain management, domestic and cross-border freight, logistics, and customs brokerage.

  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, negotiation, and time management skills.

  • Ability to multitask, plan, prioritize, and manage time effectively to meet objectives.

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; CRM (MS Dynamics) and TMS knowledge is an asset.

  • Capable of extended periods of sitting/standing at a desk and computer work.

  • Travel required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Extended periods of sitting or standing while working on a computer.

  • Work hours may occasionally exceed standard business hours.
