Description:
Empire Vie, a leading Canadian life insurance and financial services organization, is seeking a Coordonnateur/trice de dossiers, Appréciation des risques to join its Individual Risk Assessment team for a 12-month contract. This remote position provides an opportunity to play a key role in supporting the company’s underwriting processes while developing valuable technical and functional skills in the insurance sector.
The selected candidate will serve as a central resource for managing information related to risk assessments, ensuring accurate communication between advisors, underwriters, reinsurers, clients, and third parties. The role requires careful attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. It also provides exposure to administrative support, data management, and collaboration on various organizational projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Efficiently manage all necessary information for the risk assessment function.
Serve as a point of contact for advisors regarding offers and communication issues, escalating to underwriters when needed.
Communicate effectively with reinsurers, clients, advisors, and third parties regarding insurability evidence and underwriting decisions.
Enter and update data accurately within internal administrative systems.
Provide administrative support to the risk assessment team.
Process applications before issuance, prepare and distribute advisor communications, and ensure timely and accurate system updates reflecting coverage changes.
Investigate with service providers and specialists to approve costs for medical reports, exams, and lab tests while ensuring effective cost management.
Participate in organizational projects such as system updates, supplier surveys, and departmental initiatives.
Requirements:
Postsecondary education.
Experience in individual insurance or financial services is an asset.
Knowledge of medical terminology is considered an asset.
Proficiency with office software tools including word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet, databases, and presentations.
Bilingualism (English-French) is a strong asset.
Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
Customer relationship skills with professionalism and courtesy.
Ability to learn and adapt to new technology.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
For Canada-wide roles, fluency in English is required unless otherwise noted.
