Retail Assistant Store Manager

Description:

Bath & Body Works is seeking an energetic and results-driven Retail Assistant Store Manager to join their team at Upper Canada Mall, Newmarket. This on-site role offers a dynamic work environment where leadership, customer engagement, and associate development are central to success. The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in driving store performance, delivering excellent customer experiences, and cultivating a team-oriented culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with the Store Manager to attract, hire, develop, and retain top talent

• Set clear performance expectations and manage accountability within the team

• Act as Manager on Duty when required, addressing store needs and customer concerns

• Support sales leadership in action plans to drive performance and ensure operational excellence

• Implement visual merchandising and floor set strategies to enhance in-store storytelling

• Oversee daily routines such as opening/closing, deposits, and shipment receipt

• Provide coaching, feedback, and motivation to associates for improved selling and service

• Uphold safety standards while maintaining a clean and engaging store environment

• Create meaningful customer interactions by identifying needs and recommending products

• Ensure adequate floor coverage and adherence to payroll targets

• Engage in physical tasks such as lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing ladders, and maintaining store appearance

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience

• Strong retail acumen and prior supervisory or management experience

• Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills

• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Ability to train and lead teams effectively

• Customer-centric mindset with a strong focus on selling culture
