What does a Security Guard in Niagara Falls do?
Detect and apprehend shoplifters or those committing fraud while following proper procedures and protocols in accordance with Section 494 of the Criminal Code of Canada
Complete & compile necessary evidence and paperwork in a timely and professional manner
In partnership with the retail store staff, identify possible shrinkage concerns
Respond to electronic article surveillance alarms
Document all violations and communicate with Store Manager and Loss Prevention management
Report all incidents of unsafe store conditions and associate conduct
Take immediate action to remedy any imminent safety hazard
Represent the store in a positive manner
Record daily activities and complete incident reports
Qualifications to become a Security Guard in Niagara Falls
Valid Security Guard license
Prior security experience as a Loss Prevention Officer required
Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
Some knowledge of applicable laws
Basic understanding of law enforcement
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Meticulous record keeping, report writing and observation skills
Available to work days, evenings and weekends, as schedules may vary
