Quantum Management Services Ltd. is partnering with a well-established and respected private high school in Pointe-Claire, QC, to hire a dedicated and bilingual Orthopédagogue (Learning Support Specialist). This vital role is ideal for a highly motivated education professional with impeccable French skills and a solid background in special education or related fields.

The orthopédagogue will serve as the school’s primary French language resource, providing remedial support, developing individual learning strategies, and contributing to a collaborative and inclusive educational environment. The role emphasizes teamwork, flexibility, and student-centered learning support to foster academic and personal growth among secondary-level students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support both academic and personal development of students.

• Identify and assess students experiencing learning difficulties in language, mathematics, and psychomotor skills.

• Support and advise classroom teachers in implementing inclusive and adaptive teaching strategies.

• Deliver targeted instruction (individual or group) in areas such as reading, writing, and reasoning.

• Develop Individualized Learning Plans (IEPs) based on each student’s unique educational needs.

• Maintain open communication with parents, providing guidance and strategies for continued learning outside the classroom.

• Coordinate accommodations for exams, including extended time and alternative exam settings.

• Track student progress through detailed documentation and adapt strategies based on educational developments and evolving best practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Impeccable French language skills, both oral and written, as this role will function as the school’s French language reference.

• Academic background in one or more of the following fields:

  • Special Education

  • Educational Psychology

  • Remedial Education

  • Adapted School Education

• Prior hands-on experience working as a remedial teacher or learning support specialist.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Proactive, collaborative, and flexible personality with a passion for education.
