Release Manager

Description:

COGNITO INC is actively seeking a Release Coordinator/Manager with a strong background in Java Spring Boot and/or Angular development for a hybrid position based in Brampton, ON. This opportunity is ideal for candidates who combine technical expertise with excellent coordination and communication skills and are eager to play a central role in managing software release cycles.

The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless software release processes, from environment setup and validation to final deployment, while working in close collaboration with development, QA, and DevOps teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with Development, QA, and DevOps teams to maintain accurate release documentation and ensure readiness before wiki freeze deadlines.

• Schedule and lead validation calls to confirm the completion of release artifacts and validate release notes.

• Conduct thorough checks to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness of all release-related documents before each deployment.

• Collaborate with DevOps to provision and configure Integration Development Testing (IDT) environments and oversee pre-QA testing phases.

• Perform sanity checks in IDT environments and facilitate handoffs to development teams.

• Track and resolve any environment-related issues or defects in a timely manner.

• Organize and lead release deployment meetings with all relevant stakeholders including Developers, QA engineers, Scrum Masters, DevOps engineers, and Product Owners.

• Participate in Enterprise Release Management (ERM) on a monthly basis and Agile Feature Releases bi-monthly.

• Maintain and update release trackers for visibility and status reporting.

Technical Requirements:

• Strong development experience in Java Spring Boot (backend) and/or Angular (frontend).

• Hands-on knowledge of:

  • CI/CD pipelines

  • Version control systems (Git)

  • Agile and DevOps methodologies

  • Unit and integration testing

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, and Jenkins.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience in Release Management or Environment Coordination.

• Knowledge of setting up or managing lower-level testing environments (IDT, SIT).

• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).

• Excellent problem-solving skills and stakeholder management capabilities.
