Description:
Aon is seeking a Broker II – Reinsurance to join its Toronto, Ontario office, managing reinsurance client portfolios and supporting strategic placement processes.
This position focuses on client management, new business development, and reinsurance contract execution. The role blends analytical expertise, relationship management, and strategic insight to help clients manage exposures to evolving risks such as climate change and economic disruption.
The successful candidate will be viewed as a trusted partner, driving value through innovative risk management and exceptional client service.
Manage a portfolio of existing reinsurance clients with significant annual brokerage.
Support senior leaders in expanding existing accounts and acquiring new business.
Achieve treaty placement goals and maintain high client satisfaction.
Serve as a strategic partner to clients, providing expert consultation and solutions.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and reinsurers.
Ensure all placements are accurately checked and booked into Aon’s proprietary system.
Oversee preparation of comprehensive, accurate reinsurance contracts.
Collaborate with management to develop and implement strategies for business growth.
Present Aon’s products and services to clients to meet their evolving needs.
Represent Aon externally through professional and industry associations.
Demonstrate leadership and subject-matter expertise within the reinsurance sector.
Conduct research to support the development of new business concepts and approaches.
Promote teamwork, collaboration, and continuous professional development across the organization.
Completion of secondary school required.
College diploma or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 15 months of treaty and reinsurance experience.
Proven ability to price treaty structures using detailed client or industry data for cost-benefit analysis.
Experience with multi-year cost budgeting and building financial assumptions.
Skilled in planning and executing client and reinsurer events (local and international).
Ability to leverage relationships and technical knowledge to negotiate reinsurance contracts.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client engagement and relationship building.
Entrepreneurial mindset with accountability for client satisfaction and profitability.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Independent and self-motivated professional with a commitment to service quality.
