The Opportunity

Our Canada Gas Facilities Technical Services team is currently looking to add a Regulated Programs Engineer (Canada Gas) to our team in Calgary, AB. This team is accountable for developing and executing regulatory compliance programs for process safety critical equipment, as well as other projects relating to regulatory commitments.

In this role, we will rely on you to provide strong technical, organizational, and communication skills to develop the knowledge of our systems, processes and tools required to execute the program. The role has considerable flexibility when it comes to daily tasks and responsibilities. You will be a key contributor to the regulated programs team to achieve reliable operation and continuous improvement of assets located within TC Energy's Canadian pipeline systems.

What you’ll do

  • Provide engineering support for the pressure vessel and tank integrity programs, including preparing inspection packages, reviewing inspection reports and providing support for addressing integrity and reliability concerns
  • Provide engineering support for any other regulated program or specialized project, as required (This may include projects related to internal and external audit findings, as well as data improvement projects (e.g., updating equipment tags, engineering drawings, HMI SCADA screens, etc.))
  • Gather data for its incorporation into the company's preventative maintenance plan, including review of SAP data and site drawings
  • Identify data integrity improvements and cost savings through analysis of the programs
  • Ensure all applicable regulatory and corporate requirements are met for the programs
  • Support project managers and project engineers on other delegated tasks
  • Support the development and implementation of the company’s tools, standards and processes to support the implementation of the programs within Canada
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring of junior staff

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Registered, or eligible to register, with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
  • 4 years of related professional experience
  • Proven knowledge of natural gas pipelines and compressor station design, codes, standards, and specifications (CSA Z662, ASME B31.3)

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with SAP and MaxiTrak software
  • Ability to accurately analyze information and deal with ambiguity
  • Reflective and committed to continuous improvement and personal development
