As a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), you will play a key role in ensuring high-quality medical care for patients while providing compassionate client service. You will work collaboratively with veterinarians and other team members to perform essential clinical and administrative responsibilities in accordance with ABVMA guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient care, including taking vitals, physical exams, and gathering medical histories.

  • Administer and prepare medications, place IV catheters, and conduct anesthesia monitoring.

  • Assist with pre, intra, and post-operative surgical care, including pain management and analgesia.

  • Carry out diagnostic tasks such as phlebotomy, sample collection, and laboratory testing.

  • Perform dental radiographs and assist in medical procedures.

  • Provide in-patient and out-patient care with accuracy and compassion.

  • Conduct drug calculations and ensure compliance with medical standards.

  • Assist in inventory management to support clinic operations.

  • Deliver clear instructions to clients on preventative care and treatment plans.

  • Manage client interactions with professionalism and empathy, including phone and email communication, scheduling, and payment processing.

  • Utilize practice management software effectively for administrative tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Veterinary Technician Diploma from an accredited animal health technology program.

  • Successful completion of the VTNE.

  • Good standing with provincial regulatory association.
