Registered Practical Nurse

Description:

William Osler Health System is looking for a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to provide quality, patient-centered care within the General Medicine Unit. The RPN will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, as well as ensuring patient safety and well-being in a compassionate manner. Key duties include providing care to patients with a variety of needs, including TPN, NG tubes, wound care, IV therapy, and more. The role involves health teaching for patients and families, responding to emergency situations, and adhering to infection control measures.

The RPN will also be required to collaborate with other healthcare professionals as part of an inter-professional team and provide leadership in facilitating patient care. Additionally, the RPN will be responsible for making autonomous decisions regarding patient care priorities and maintaining a high level of clinical practice.

Qualifications:

• Recent experience within the last five years, with at least two years of acute general medicine nursing experience.

• Experience working with geriatric patients preferred.

• Certification in BCLS and Medication Administration.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to work in stressful environments and collaborate effectively with a team.

• Knowledge of patient and family-centered care, and experience with health teaching.

• Leadership, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
