Description:

The Registered Nurse will provide quality, patient-centered nursing care to paediatric and neonatal intensive care patients as part of an inter-professional health care team, adhering to nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safe nursing practice including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care

• Compliance with observation policies and procedures

• Deliver compassionate, culturally sensitive care ensuring patient safety and wellbeing

• Infection control and prevention measures adherence

• Respond to emergencies by recognizing health status changes and appropriately consulting the team

• Provide health teaching and discharge instructions to patients and families for continuity of care

Core Competencies & Qualifications:

• Current registration and good standing with College of Nurses of Ontario

• Strong nursing knowledge, clinical judgment, and autonomous decision-making skills

• BCLS certification required

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in an inter-professional team

• Experience with patient and family-centred care and health teaching

• Leadership and facilitation skills

• Ability to work in stressful, fast-paced environments

• Commitment to continuous professional development

• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act

• Excellent attendance and punctuality

• Familiarity with information systems and technology
