Description:
BDC (Business Development Bank of Canada) is seeking a passionate and strategic Regional Manager, Inclusive Entrepreneurship to lead and expand its inclusive entrepreneurship efforts across Ontario. This hybrid role is based in Surrey, BC, with a focus on cultivating inclusive economic participation in underserved communities across the province.
As part of BDC’s commitment to inclusive growth and economic empowerment, this role is designed for a high-impact leader who understands the importance of equitable access to financial resources and entrepreneurship support. The successful candidate will work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to implement go-to-market strategies that position BDC as a trusted financial partner for entrepreneurs from underserved populations.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and execute regional go-to-market strategies for inclusive entrepreneurship
Develop and nurture relationships with a wide array of stakeholders in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including community organizations, associations, and business networks that serve diverse and underserved populations
Collaborate with BDC Account Managers to identify, attract, and support new clients from various socio-economic backgrounds and business sizes
Leverage personal and professional networks to bring in business opportunities that align with BDC’s mission
Champion and model inclusive practices within BDC by mentoring and guiding internal teams, raising awareness, and coordinating internal champions of inclusivity
Monitor regional economic trends and tailor BDC offerings to meet the evolving needs of underrepresented entrepreneurs
Support the broader strategy development by contributing insights and helping shape inclusive financial products and services
Candidate Requirements:
More than 5 years of experience in financial services, particularly in roles such as account management, lending, or related fields
Proven ability to analyze financial statements and effectively communicate insights
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide both internal and external stakeholders
A high level of initiative and the ability to influence others through excellent interpersonal and networking skills
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field
Demonstrated interest in SME development, inclusive economic policies, and supporting business diversity
A valid driver’s license is required
