Description:
The Saskatchewan Healthcare Recruitment Agency (SHRA) is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies and tactics that facilitate the local, national and international recruitment and retention of physicians and health professionals in Saskatchewan in collaboration with our partners. Recruitment and Retention Associates are valuable team members who provide important support for the recruitment team and for health practitioners interested in the opportunities available in Saskatchewan.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of recruitment and retention strategies, policies, programs, practices and tactics in local, national and international environments.
- Establish and maintain effective external relationships (e.g. employers, regulators, post-secondary institutions) that support collaboration and advance the annual plan and objectives of the SHRA.
- Provide specialized and complex information on professional licensure, including required national examinations and assessment pathways, to physicians and health professionals considering Saskatchewan as a place to work/practice.
- Build trusting relationships with students, residents, physicians and health professionals to influence their decision on where to work/practice.
- Utilize, support and troubleshoot software that hosts job vacancies and candidate profiles to ensure the SHRA has the insights needed to promote career opportunities and service customers in the recruitment, training and settlement processes.
- Provide front-line service to public and others on services and programs such as incentives, resources for licensing and job postings.
- Contribute to sourcing and recruitment activities such as initial screening of profiles and resumes; tracking and reporting.
Qualifications
Typically, the knowledge and competencies for this position would have been acquired through:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in human resources or commerce/business administration or other relevant field.
- One to two years of experience working with diverse and external clients, ideally in human resource recruitment.
- Knowledge of physician and health professional licensure or immigration would be an asset.
From time to time, local, national and international travel may be required.
Work hours outside of regular office hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required.
Opportunity for advancement to a Recruitment Consultant may be available with experience and demonstrated skillset development.
